The Cadillac Formula 1 Team has officially received final approval to join the sport, with the FIA and Formula One Management confirming that the team—backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors (GM)—will be on the grid in 2026.
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali hailed GM’s commitment as a significant milestone for the sport, stating, “The commitment by General Motors to bring a Cadillac team to Formula 1 was an important and positive demonstration of the evolution of our sport. I look forward to welcoming the team on the grid from 2026 for what will be another exciting year for Formula 1.”
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem emphasized the significance of the decision, calling it a “transformative moment” for the championship. He highlighted Cadillac’s arrival as a step forward for the sport’s growth and alignment with the upcoming 2026 FIA regulations.
