The Mexican midfielder becomes West Ham’s 1st inking in the current transfer window, as the London team used for the transfer some of the huge transfer fee that they received for the sale of captain Declan Rice to the Gunners.
The Dutch club made the details of the deal public as they will get almost 4 million dollars in add-ons, and Edson will wear the number 19 shirt in his new team.
The Hammers will start the Premier League campaign on Saturday vs. Bournemouth.
“That’s a phenomenal move for my career. To become part of a team like West Ham is an accomplished dream.
“The Premier League is the best football championship worldwide, and I think it’s perfect for my style of play. I now have a responsibility to the Hammers and the fans, and I will do my best each day to help the club.”
West Ham head coach David Moyes shared that he wanted to add a player in the midfield, and Alvarez is exactly what the team needed.
