Hamilton’s contract talks took longer than expected, but at the end of the day he put the ink on the paper that will keep him with Mercedes for 15th year in a row.
There were a lot of rumors that the 7-time world champion may make a move to Ferrari, but Mercedes managed to offer their big star a worthy contract to keep him in the team. This season Hamilton is currently fourth with 156 points – 183 points away from leader Max Verstappen, who is on its way to third consecutive world title.
Russell is seventh with 99 points in the driver’s standings and season 2024 will be his third for Mercedes.
