The Edmonton team run riot en route to convincing victory

The Edmonton Oilers trashed the Vegas Golden Knights 5-1 in Game 2 to tie the overall score at 1-1 in second-round playoffs on Saturday night.

Conor McDavid scored 2 goals and had one assists, while Leon Draisaitl also finished the game with a brace. It was Draisaitl 13th goal in the playoffs, only 6 shy of the record 19, held by Philadelphia Reggie Leach in 1976 and Oiler’s Jari Kurri in 1985.

Defenceman Evan Bouchard also scored a power play goal to round off the five-goals rout. Goaltender Stuart Skinner stopped 30 shots.

Ivan Barbashev scored the sole goal for the Golden Knights and it mattered little as the team from Vegas was already trailing by 5 goals. Goaltender Laurent Brossoit made 26 saves, before being subbed off late in the second half for Adin Hill, who stopped all four of the shots he faced.

Game 3 will be held on Monday at Edmonton as Vegas will be looking to strike back.
