Jack Campbell was the goalie who helped the Edmonton Oilers to come back from 3 goals behind and beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-4 in OT in Game 4.
Campbell replaced Stuart Skinner, who began at the net every match in the series but was replaced after Kings scored 3 goals in the 1st period from 11 shots.
Jack thanked his team for the trust and made 27 saves from 28 shots to push Edmonton back in the game and win to even the series 2-2.
“Not an easy situation,” Leon Draisaitl said of Campbell. “Hasn’t been an easy season for him, but the way he showed up against Los Angeles was really, really impressive, and we’re very lucky to have him.”
Jay Woodcroft, the Canadian team’s head coach, disclosed that he made the substitute to shift the energy after the disappointing 1st period.
“We have a good goaltending tandem,” the Oilers manager said. “I have belief in both of our goalies.
“They put hard miles on the opponents decor. Our belief is that if you do things harder and longer than the other team, over time all those good things accrue. It’s like a bank account. You keep investing in that bank account and eventually you’ll get rewarded,” Jay Woodcroft… pic.twitter.com/RmpBaS074z
