Formula 1 will return after the summer break in Zandvoort, where reigning world champion Max Verstappen will aim for a record-equaling 9th consecutive win, which will put him neck-and-neck with Sebastian Vettel, who also notched 9 in a row back in 2013.
According to Mark Webber, only reliability issues could get in the Dutchman’s way of achieving that feat as the Aussie was full of praise for the current Championship leader.
“I think it’s really hard for people to understand this level of domination, how much work and effort goes into it,” Webber said. “That’s the big thing, you’ve got to give credit, people have to give credit where it’s due.”
“I think the world would like to see him win his home race [at Zandvoort]. To do the business there would be extraordinary. He should win that one and then he’s equal.”
