Washington Capitals' forward will concentrate on preparing for the second half of the season
Washington Capitals’ Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin will miss the upcoming NHL All-Star Game to prepare for the second half of the regular season, as reported by journalist Tarik El-Bashir on social media.
Ovechkin has already informed the team of his decision.
In the current season, the 38-year-old forward has played 36 games, scoring 8 goals and providing 16 assists. The Russian player holds the second position in the list of top scorers in the NHL regular season (830 goals), trailing only behind Canadian Wayne Gretzky, who has 894 goals.
This year’s NHL All-Star Game is scheduled to take place in Toronto from February 1 to 3.
