Florida Panthers capitalized on the Edmonton Oilers’ sloppiest performance in weeks, cruising to a commanding 6-1 victory in Game 3 on Monday night to take a 2-1 lead in the Stanley Cup Final.
Brad Marchand continued his remarkable postseason run, becoming the oldest player in NHL history to score in each of the first three games of a Final. Sam Bennett also made a major impact, delivering a crushing hit on Vasily Podkolzin that led to a turnover and breakaway goal — his playoff-leading 14th.
That was fun!!!!!

Florida’s offensive firepower was on full display on the night. Marchand and Bennett now have a combined eight goals in the series, while Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Reinhart each scored their first of the Final, Aaron Ekblad added another to chase Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner from the net, and Evan Rodrigues sealed the rout with a late goal.
On defense, Sergei Bobrovsky delivered another strong performance. The veteran goaltender, a two-time Vezina Trophy winner, made 32 saves and drew chants of “Bobby! Bobby!” from the electrified South Florida crowd.
