In the shootout’s third round, David Pastrnak netted a goal, securing a 5-4 victory for the Boston Bruins, who currently lead the Eastern Conference, over the New York Islanders on Friday night.

Scoring in regulation for the Bruins were Pastrnak, Morgan Geekie, James van Reimsdyk, and Mason Lohrei. Lohrei managed to knot the score at 4-4 with just 3:09 remaining, executing a bank shot from behind the goal line. Linus Ullmark, with 34 saves, played a pivotal role in Boston’s triumph, bringing their record to an impressive 19-5-4.

The New York Islanders saw goals from Brock Nelson, Bo Horvat, Alexander Romanov, and Simon Holmstrom, with Ilya Sorokin making 29 saves. Despite their recent four-game winning streak, New York fell short in the shootout against the Bruins.
