Patrick Mahomes openly admitted that he is not happy with his game following an unimpressive start of the new 2023-24 season, which saw the Super Bowl champions claim three wins in 4 attempts.
The Chiefs are heading to Sunday’s game to Minnesota leading the AFC West, but their recent performances have been somewhat undermining, especially those of their starlet Mahomes.
For example, against the Jets the 28-year-old was just 21 of 29 for 203 yards with a touchdown pass and two badly thrown interceptions, though he did make a couple of crucial plays with his feet late in the game to secure the win.
“I just haven’t played very good to start the season,” Mahomes commented. “I think if I start playing better everybody is going to start playing better.”
Overall, the Chiefs asses has been solid, but many have expected much more from him after career-breaking 2022-23, when he threw for a franchise-record 5,250 yards with a league-leading 41 touchdown passes.
So, given his status Mahomes must up his game to help the Chiefs march forward to a successful title defense.
