Starting CB Jonathan Jones will miss his franchise match vs. the NY Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday as he suffers from an ankle problem.
New England, who are trying to avoid their 1st 0-3 beginning of a campaign since 2000, suffered from injured cornerbacks lately. While Jonathan is sidelined for 2nd consecutive match, backup Marcus Jones (torn labrum) was placed on injured reserve yesterday, and fellow backup Jack Jones (hamstring) landed on IR on September 9th.

That leaves 1st round selection Christian Gonzalez as the organization’s top player at cornerback, as we will watch a big-time matchup with New York WR Garrett Wilson. Christian has appeared in every snap on defense in the 1st two matches of the new season.
Pats’ other cornerbacks are Myles Bryant, Shaun Wade, and this year’s 7th-round draft selection, Ameer Speed, as Ameer helps mainly on special teams.
