Determined to change something in their awful offense since the beginning of the new campaign, the New England Patriots inked dynamic receiver/quarterback Malik Cunningham to their 53-man squad.
Cunningham, who finished his period at Louisville ranked 4th in school history with 9,664 passing yards and 3rd with 3,184 rushing yards, had spent the 1st 5 weeks of the campaign on the franchise’s practice roster.
Wow: Not only are the #Patriots elevating Malik Cunningham from the practice squad to the 53 man roster, but they are signing him to a THREE year deal, per @RapSheet
That’s pretty impressive, from PS right to a 3 year contract. pic.twitter.com/K6kTBPp3S8

Malik is expected to be active as New England (1-4) will face away from home Las Vegas (2-3) during the weekend at Allegiant Stadium.
The organization is in the last place in the league in points per match, and the 6-foot-1, 198-pound new signing must help them to change that. He can also compete with Mac Jones for the QB position but also be on the field as a receiver as JuJu Smith-Schuster and rookie Demario “Pop” Douglas will be sidelined for the match on Sunday due to injuries.
