Los Angeles Clippers winger Paul George will not be able to recover from his right knee injury for the first game of the playoff series with the Phoenix Suns, journalist Shams Charania reported. A few hours later, George himself confirmed the news.
The eight-time All-Star has a sprained right knee suffered against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 21. “I’m feeling a lot better. I’m busting my ass off working and I’m literally shaking all day. I’m training six days a week and going to rehab. I’m going to do everything I can to play in the playoffs, but it’s all in the balance.” George said.
The series between Phoenix and the Los Angeles Clippers begin April 16 in Phoenix. The second match will also be in Arizona, but the dates of the other matches will be announced later.
In all likelihood, George will be able to play in either Game 3 or Game 4 at the earliest, which will be in LA.
