Adam Peaty has claimed he will take a break from swimming but did not reveal if he would retire from the sport after finishing the Olympics with a silver medal.
Adam fell agonizingly short of his goal to become a 3-time Olympic 100-meter breaststroke champ, being defeated by Italy’s Nicolò Martinenghi by just 0.02 seconds.
Team GB revealed Peaty had tested positive for COVID-19 the next day. However, he swam again at the weekend for the men’s 4×100-metre medley relay.
Team GB secured their place in the final but ended up without a medal after finishing 4th behind France, the USA, and China,
That was the final day of the swimming events at the Olympics in Paris.
Adam’s mom, Caroline, has shared in the past that he would love his son to retire and live a more normal life. However, Peaty didn’t announce his retirement after the final night of swimming at Le Défense Arena as he claimed that he would need time to decide what to do next.
