Pegula eliminates Swiatek at the 1/2 finals in Montreal

Jessica Pegula defeated world number 1, Iga Swiatek, after 3 sets and will play for the title at the Masters 1000 tournament in Canada.

In tomorrow’s final, Jessica, world number 3, will play for the trophy against Elena Rybakina or Liudmila Samsonova.

The American, appearing for 3^rd straight time in the Canadian Open ½ finals, converted 11 breaks and was better in the crucial moments during the game to triumph 6-2, 6-7 (4), 6-4 and will have the chance to win the trophy in Montreal for the 1^st time in her career.
