Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola shares that past campaign’s treble is a ludicrous task for his team to repeat as he spoke ahead of his side’s 1st match from the new season vs. Burnley on Friday.
🗣️ “It will be impossible to do what we did last season. It’s once in a lifetime. We climbed to the highest mountain last season. The last two days we came down.”

The Sky Blues triumphed with the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League in the past campaign to become the 1st English team since Manchester United in 1999 to win these 3 trophies within 1 season.
No Premier League side has ever triumphed with 4 straight titles, but the City’s boss thinks it is unwise to start talking about the title in the league in the 1st weeks of the campaign.
“We can’t have the success we had in the past campaign. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime,” Pep shared in his press conference.
Guardiola added that he told his players to clear their heads and be ready for the start of the new season as the other teams will be more motivated than ever to take their crown.
