Terms of the acquired are not made public, but Paramount, the former parent company of Bellator, will keep a share in the combat organization. The Bellator brand will still run as a separate, “reimagined” product in the next year, but all Bellator-inked fighters are now available to compete on PFL platforms. More than that, PFL is already working to organize a ‘huge event’ next year to get champion vs. champion bouts between the 2 combat promotions.
“The most important thing of all sports is the quality of the athletes,” Davis shared with the media. “With this acquisition, this combined fighters is now equal to the UFC in terms of Top 25-best in the business.
The quality of the product, the depth of the product — this makes the PFL the best fighting organization in the world right now. That’s not possible in everyday sports. This was a once-in-a-lifetime chance.”
PFL Founder Donn Davis feels Dana White is “worried” about the PFL #TheMMAHour
“Everybody knows Dana well enough that he only dismisses things that worry him. Or else he just doesn’t comment… He’s commented on the PFL a lot the last six months.”
