Philadelphia Eagles CB Darius Slay underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in the recent days and will be sidelined for his team MNF’s match vs. the Seattle Seahawks, manager Nick Sirianni admitted today.
The Eagles’ head coach did not provide a timeline for the cornerback’s return, but most likely, Darius will be available before the end of the regular campaign. Philly boss also refused to answer who would replace Slay on the field, sharing: “We’ve got the right footballers in place.”
Rookie Kelee Ringo and 2nd year Josh Jobe are the most likely options.
Slay has been the best for the Eagles’ secondary, posting 2 picks – 1 of which he returned for a TD- and 14 pass breakups.
Philadelphia ranks 28th in pass defense and has given up 29 TDs, the 2nd most in the National Football League.
