Philadelphia plans to keep the defensive tackle, but their deep pass-rush roster will limit his time on the field if he remains in the organization.
Derek is part of a group that includes Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat, who plays at his position, as well as LBs Haason Reddick and Nolan Smith. If the Eagles kept him for the upcoming season, he will be a rotational player. Franchises have until 4 p.m. tomorrow to get their squad to 53 players.
The DE (27) was picked 14th overall by Philadelphia in 2017. Barnett has almost 22 sacks in his 6 years with the franchise. His best campaign was in 2019 when he finished with almost 7 sacks and 22 QB hits, 10 tackles for loss, and 2 forced fumbles.
