The match between Groningen and Ajax from the 32nd of the Dutch Eredivisie was suspended due to disturbances in the stands.
In the 6th minute of the game, objects, including black smoke grenades, flew towards the field.
An invasion followed by a home fan holding a banner against the management. The stewards failed to intervene quickly enough and the supporter started running on the pitch.

The referee was forced to take the players back into the tunnel, and the match was stopped before even 10 minutes had passed.
Tensions are high in Groningen after the team was relegated from the Netherlands’ top flight. The team occupies the 17th position with 17 points and will compete in the second division from next season.
