Mauricio Pochettino claimed it is important that the Blues put the disappointing 2023 behind them and show “consistency,” as everything starts with the next match against Luton tomorrow.

If his team lost against the newly-promoted side on Saturday, it would be their 24th defeat in 2023 – their most since 1978 when Chelsea finished in the last place of the old Division 1 and was relegated to the 2nd tier at the end of the 1978-79 campaign.
“Of course, that’s our focus — being consistent and after the last 6 matches at our stadium, I think we did great because to get this run and then to end 2023 with a victory [would be] be very important,” the North London club boss shared with the media.”
Mauricio added that Romeo Lavia sustained a problem while entering from the bench in the 2nd half in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory vs. Crystal Palace.
