Pochettino promises to turn things around at Chelsea

Chelsea’s new manager Mauricio Pochettino gave his first interview as head coach of the team.

He expressed his satisfaction with his appointment, praised the club for its recent successes, promised that the Londoners will return to winning ways, spoke of his desire for a pleasant atmosphere in the team and assured that he has become a much better coach than before.

“It is a pleasure and an honor for me to now be a part of Chelsea. My staff and I are very excited, as I personally know Chelsea very well. It is one of the greatest clubs in the world. Of course it was an easy decision for me to come here. It is exciting for us as a team to get to know the club. Our desire is to bring joy back to this great football club. We will work hard and play in a way that fans can enjoy football. Chelsea’s story is about winning, but it’s also about how we achieve those successes.

I think the culture in the club is very important. It’s about a culture of winning. In the last 10, 12 or 15 years, Chelsea has been the most successful team in England. I know the Premier League very well and what the Chelsea culture means. I think our supporters are excited to be trying to win again. Of course we’re excited too. We have the opportunity to work with a fairly young team, and with a different approach compared to the past. But I think we all have to understand that we have to work really hard and create a good atmosphere at the training ground to ensure the success of the team over the next few years.
