Ange Postecoglou revealed that he doesn’t believe that Spurs supporters want to lose vs. Manchester City and insists his players won’t “roll out the red carpet” for the reigning EPL champions – even if the result will give Arsenal the opportunity to win the league.
The Gunners returned to the top of the Premier League with a 1-0 victory against Man United at Old Trafford yesterday to ensure EPL title race will go down to the final day. But the Sky Blues, at this time a 1 point behind them, will reclaim the 1st place if the win their match in hand against Tottenham in London tomorrow.
The North London club may have nothing to play for vs. Guardiola’s side if Aston Villa defeat Liverpool later today would end their UCL qualification hopes.
However, Spurs head coach revealed that everything that he wants tomorrow is for his team to win no matter if Tottenham will have a chance to fight for the 4th place or that they will help their rivals Arsenal with the result.
“We’ve got a match to win, and that’s what my team will try to achieve,” Ange shared with the media.
"How are we ever going to become a team that wins things if we don't win the big games?"
"Why would we shy away from a challenge that exists?"🙄
Ange Postecoglou has one clear objective in mind ahead of @ManCity tomorrow🧠
