Cody Glass scored late in the second period and gave his team the lead. Former Bruins defenseman Jeremy Lauzon doubled the scoring in the third period with an easy finish in front of an empty net.
Goaltender Juuse Saros had an excellent performance, stopping 35 shots.
This was Predators’s only third win out of their last eight games, but it was well-deserved and keeps their chances for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
David Pastrnak scored for Boston with second left in the game, a mere consolation for a team with high hopes, which ultimately faded as the game progressed.
This was Boston’s only fourth defeat in regulation time at home.
“Tonight was one of those nights where we kind of did it to ourselves,” Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron said.
