On Thursday, Christian Pulisic clinched the title of U.S. Soccer Federation’s Male Player of the Year for the fourth occasion, a feat shared with Landon Donovan, who also achieved this honor multiple times since its inception in 1998.
With 53% of the vote, Pulisic outshone his competitors, namely Yunus Musah (21.5%) and Ricardo Pepi (12.9%). Hailing from Hershey, Pennsylvania, the 25-year-old winger, now in his debut season with AC Milan, had previously secured this accolade in 2017, 2019, and 2021.
Pulisic showcased his prowess by netting six international goals in 2023, including a crucial pair in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinal triumph over Mexico, coupled with three assists. His contributions extended to the Serie A, where he notched six goals in the first half of the season for Milan, in addition to one goal in the Champions League – marking his eighth career goal in Europe’s premier club competition.
Landon Donovan, a four-time recipient of the award in 2003, 2004, 2009, and 2010, secured his final win at the age of 28.
