Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal has confirmed that 2024 will probably be the last year of his career. He has now been sidelined for eight months, revealing that he has undergone two hip operations.
“I said it’s possible that 2024 will be my last year. I stand by it, although I can’t confirm 100 percent because I don’t know,” Nadal said in an interview with Movistar+ TV station. He added that he can’t wait to start playing and be back at his level again.
“The idea is not to come back and win Roland Garros or the Australian Open. Let people not be surprised, it’s a long way off, I’m aware with the difficulties that are in front of me,” added the Spaniard, who has won 22 Grand Slam titles in his career.
Nadal interviewed today, instead of finally congratulating Djokovic on extending his slams to 24 he said that Djokovic lives the grand slam race in a more intense way then him and it would have been a greater frustration for him if he didn’t achieve it. pic.twitter.com/8vth10qjD1

“Would I enjoy being the tennis player with the most Grand Slam titles? No doubt… but it doesn’t obsess over me. I think Novak Djokovic experiences it more intensely than I would.”, he said.
