The NHL match opened with a brawl involving all skaters.

The NY Rangers and New Jersey Devils started the match with a brawl involving all 10 skaters on the ice off the opening faceoff.

The most eventful fight was between New York attacker Matt Rempe and  Kurtis MacDermid, with the 2 history from the previous time New Jersey played against the Rangers at the Big Apple last month. In that match, Kempe refused MacDermid’s offer to fight at the beginning of the match. Later in the clash, Matt knocked New Jersey defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler out of the match with a high elbow and was banned for 4 matches after that.

Matt and Kurtis fought the longest as all of the other brawls had already ended while these 2 were continuing. 4 skaters from each organization were given misconducts 2 seconds into the match.

All of the players on the ice also got 5-minute fighting penalties.

The Rangers end up winning the match 4-3 against the Devils after a comeback in the 3rd period.
