Novak won the 1st set after a tiebreak 7-6 (5), but Raonic was the better player on the court after that.
The Canadian won 6-4 in the 2nd set after converting one break and didn’t allow a single chance for the Austrian to break his serve.
Milos also didn’t allow a break chance in the 3rd set, but he failed to convert 3, and the set reached a tiebreak. That time, the Canadian tennis player won 7-6 (5) and took the lead in the match.
Raonic won the 4th set for only 23 minutes, 6-1, after 2 breaks to close the bout and win his 1st match at Wimbledon.
The only clash between Milos and Dennis was again in Wimbledon in 2018, and the Canadian won with the same result – 3:1 sets.
Milos will face Mochizuki or Paul in the next round of the tournament.
1 – Milos Raonic has registered his first win at Wimbledon since beating Reilly Opelka in the round of 32 in 2019. It is also the Canadian’s first Grand Slam win since Australian Open 2021 when he beat Marton Fucsovics in the round of 32. Comeback. #Wimbledon | @Wimbledon… pic.twitter.com/rG5Y5gT4W8
