American rapper Snoop Dogg will be among the torchbearers carrying the Olympic flame during the final stretch before the opening ceremony of the Paris Games on Friday.
The 52-year-old artist will bear the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, the northern Paris suburb that hosts the Stade de France Olympic Stadium, as announced by Saint-Denis mayor Mathieu Hanotin on the social media platform X.
“Saint Denis: last step before the Eiffel Tower. An international cast @SnoopDogg for the last stretch of the Olympic Flame,” Hanotin wrote.
Roughly 10,500 athletic superstars are at Paris 2024 — but celebrities too.

Snoop Dogg, who is also contributing to NBC Primetime’s coverage of the Games, is widely recognized in the sports community for his Snoop Youth Football League, with its championship game known as the “Snooper Bowl.”
Other notable torchbearers in Saint-Denis on Friday include French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar.
