Marcus Rashford has openly admitted that he considered leaving Manchester United last summer before the arrival of new manager Erik Ten Hag.
Rashford struggled for form two seasons ago and weighed his options on possible exit amid PSG interest.
But he rediscovered form under Ten Hag and achieved his best ever season, bagging 30 goals in 56 appearances. All that has led to him signing a new £300,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford earlier this month, tying him with the club until the summer of 2028.
A complete contrast to the year prior, when Rashford scored only 5 times in a miserable campaign for him and for the team.
“Before the manager came maybe a little bit. But it’s football, it happens.” Rashford replied when asked if he considered leaving
“Everything is going to happen for a reason and he (Ten Hag) came to the club at the right time for me. The timing worked out.”
“I just felt a little bit more freedom, a little bit more stability,’ he added. ‘I think that gives you the baseline to try and showcase your abilities.”
