The Baltimore Ravens revealed that they appointed LA Chargers DC Jesse Minter to be their new head coach today, as the fast-rising boss will replace John Harbaugh. Jesse is getting a 5-year deal.
Minter has been the DC for Jim Harbaugh for the last 4 years, overseeing the defenses at the University of Michigan and Los Angeles in the NFL. However, Jesse’s 1st job in the league came with John Harbaugh in Baltimore, where he was a DA for 3 years.
“It’s a dream come true to become the manager of the Ravens,” Jesse shared. “Baltimore is a team whose values, culture, and tradition of excellence are everything, something that I admire, and that’s something every organization must have.”
The appointment of Minter, who had been the favorite to become the head coach of Baltimore, comes less than 3 weeks after the Ravens dismissed Harbaugh, the team’s winningest coach, who was fired after 18 years.
Baltimore interviewed 16 candidates for the vacancy, as the other head coaches who were interviewed twice were also the Dolphins’ DC, Anthony Weaver, and the Bills’ OC, Joe Brady.
