The Tampa Bay team run riot and are one step away from the franchise record

The Tampa Bay Rays edged out Boston Red Sox 9-7 to reach their 12th victory from the start of the season, one short from the franchise record, set by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1987 and Atlanta Braves in 1982.

Tampa Bay have the opportunity to equal that record on Thursday night, when they face Red Sox once again.

Randy Arozarena hit three0run homers, as his team leads the majors with 30 home runs and have now outscored their opponents 92 to 27.

Rafael Devers, who had been hitless in 10 at-bats with six strikeouts in the series, pulled Boston to 8-7 on a three-run homer off Colin Poche in the seventh.

Arozarena’s sacrifice fly made it 9-7 in the eighth.

The Rays climbed up to 6-1 lead and despite some drop off still managed to close the match at 9-7.
