Mauricio Pochettino is Florentino Perez’s favorite to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Argentinian newspaper TyC Sports reports.
The 63-year-old Italian has a contract with Los Blancos for one more season and does not want to leave the coaching post, but the Brazilian Football Federation does not hide that it wants him as a coach in place of the departed Tite.
Pochettino has been a free agent since last summer when he parted ways with PSG. He was strongly linked to his former club Tottenham, but they bet on another temporary option until the summer after the departure of Antonio Conte a few days ago.
Information also appeared that the Argentine refused an offer from West Ham, and is among the options for Chelsea in the event of Graham Potter’s release.
