Red Bull team principal Christian Horner responded to Lewis Hamilton‘s comments about the car of the 2022 champions. The Austrian team boss admitted he felt “flattered” by the Briton’s claims that the RB19 was the fastest car he had ever seen.
“These comments are very flattering, especially considering some of the cars Lewis has driven in the recent past,” shared Horner.
“We are aware that the 2023 season is very long. We still have 20 main races and six sprints to go. We know there are big updates coming for some teams when we arrive in Europe,” the Red Bull boss explained.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect us to increase the gap to our rivals so much. We’ve seen some teams step up and some not. But that will change at different tracks and sessions,” he added.
“I have always said that it will take at least three or four races to get a real picture of the actual form for the whole season,” added Christian Horner.
