Sam – the league’s power-play goal leader in the current season, notched his 65th and most crucial goal of the campaign 1.12 into OT, and Florida Panthers defeated the NY Rangers 3-2 at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, FL, tying the East Conference finals at 2 matches apiece.
“If Reinhart is open, without a doubt, we want the puck to end with him,” shared Florida captain Aleksander Barkov, who provided the assist for the match-winner.
Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett also notched for the Panthers as Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 21 shots and also provided an assist.
Vincent Trocheck and Alexis Lafrenière notched for the NHL franchise from the Big Apple, while Igor Shesterkin made 37 saves.
