“I’m sorry. I can’t comment,” the third baseman told the reporters Saturday. MLB said yesterday that it would investigate what happened.
Anthony finished without a hit and criticized a fan sitting nearby when he was heading to the tunnel.
Anthony told the Oakland fan that he heard he calls him a “slur,” but the fan didn’t agree. Rendon said offensive words to the fan before he left. All was captured on video and uploaded to social media.
“This happens a lot, unfortunately,” Angels manager Phil Nevin said.
