Doc will be presented to the media on Saturday. After that, Milwaukee will face the New Orleans Pelicans at their venue, but Rivers will not be on the bench until Monday, when he will make his debut vs. the Nuggets in Denver.
Milwaukee will be the 5th organization Doc (62) has taken over; he began as a manager in 1999-2000. Rivers met with his players and made a very inspirational talk, according to Pat Connaughton.
“He shared about that identity that we should have as a team,” Connaughton admitted after the loss against the Cavs. “Rivers shared about the talent that we have in the organization; franchises must be afraid when they face us.”
Doc returns to the bench after being fired from his most recent head coaching job with the 76ers.
