The Italian soccer federation shared that the manager gave his resignation “late last night” and that they will hire a new head coach very soon.
Italy will play Euro 2024 qualifying games vs. North Macedonia and Ukraine on September 10th and 12th, respectively. Hence, the federation have less than a month until the next games of the national team.
Roberto became the head coach of Italy in 2018 after they failed to qualify for the World Cup as during that time, that was the Italian national team’s 1st missing World Cup since 1958.
Mancini won the European Championship in 2021 after penalties against England, but again, Italy failed to qualify for the Qatar World Cup.
