Aaron Rodgers is back as the starting QB of the NY Jets – healthy, confident, and in top form for a potential do-or-die campaign for him and the entire franchise.
“If I don’t play of how I know I can play, we’re all probably going to be somewhere else,” Rodgers shared with the media after his 2nd OTA training — the first open to the reporters. “I love that kind of pressure, to be honest.”
The 4-time MVP amplified the narrative surrounding the team, that the fates of manager Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas will be decided in the upcoming campaign. The NFL franchise from the Big Apple are 18-33 under the duo, relying on Aaron and a win-now squad can end the National Football League’s longest active postseason drought – 13 seasons.
Rodgers understands that he must perform to remain in the Jets.
“It might not be spoken enough, but as you get older in the NFL, if you don’t deliver, they’re going to replace you and bring in the next person to take over,” Rodgers admitted.
"If I don't do what I know I'm capable of doing, we're all probably going to be out of here. I like that kind of pressure, though."
