Man City star Rodri does not believe being an ex-Atletico Madrid footballer rules him out of joining Los Blancos and has claimed: “You can’t turn down the best teams in the world”.
The Spanish player, who is 29 years old, has played 293 games for the Sky Blues since joining from Atletico Madrid 7 years ago, will be out of deal next summer.
The midfielder shared that he will discuss his future with Manchester City first, but he would like to someday play in his home country again.
Despite playing 47 matches for Atletico, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner claimed he wouldn’t mind signing for Real Madrid.
Footballers, who have played for both Madrid giants, feature goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Spain striker Alvaro Morata, as both of them played for Chelsea during their time in Spain.
Rodri has secured 12 major trophies with Man City, including 4 EPL titles and 1 UCL trophy. The Spaniard has appeared in 18 Premier League matches in the current campaign after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament 2 years ago.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri has said he would be open to a move to Real Madrid.
