Ronaldo tops Messi on Forbes’ Football Rich list

Cristiano Ronaldo is the world’s highest-paid footballer in the current year, earning more money than Leo Messi in the past 12 months.

The Portuguese, who Forbes also ranks as the highest-paid athlete of any sport, is in 1^st place as he earned 260 million dollars last year.

Ronaldo’s deal with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, whom he inked after leaving Manchester United at the beginning of the year, is for 200 million dollars, as the Portugal attacker earned 60 million dollars more from advertisements.

Messi is in 2^nd place on the list with 135 million dollars, as he made many of them after joining Inter Miami in MLS.

The Argentinian is the 1^st MLS footballer in the top 10 list since David Beckham in 2012.

Neymar is in 3^rd place with 112 million dollars as he also made his money by becoming part of the Saudi Pro League as he left PSG to join Al Hilal.
