England and the Red Devils legend Wayne Rooney has been hired as head coach of English 2nd-tier Championship team Plymouth Argyle, the side shared today.
The job is Wayne’s 1st managerial appointment since being dismissed by Birmingham City at the beginning of the year after a disappointing 15-match spell in charge of the team. Birmingham would go on to be relegated, and Wayne now joins the club that finished just 1 place above them, in 20th, after escaping relegation in the last possible moment.
✍️ We are delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Rooney as our new Head Coach.

“Becoming the head coach at Plymouth Argyle feels like the excellent next step in my career, and I would like to express my gratitude to the Chairman and Board for trusting me to manage the club,” Wayne announced after his appointment.
“This is a fantastic chance to be part of a great project. I can’t wait to help to build a squad of footballers to play expansive football — and to bring joy to our supporters while watching us on the pitch.”
