Rublev beats Fritz 2:1 to reach final in Monte Carlo

The Russian advanced to the final in the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo.

Andrey Rublev, world number 6, won against Taylor Fritz, world number 10, and will play for the title at Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

The American won a very dramatic 1st set 7-5 after breaking his opponent’s serve 4 times. However, the Russians regroup and trash Fritz 6-1 in the 2nd set after converting 3 breakpoints.

Rublev won the deciding 3rd set 6-3 after losing his serve once but breaking Fritz twice.

That was the 1st match between them on clay.

Andrey will face in the match for the title Jannik Sinner or Holger Rune.
