George Russell, who won last Formula 1 race in Austria, grabbed the pole position for the British Grand Prix in Formula 1, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton will start right behind him in Mercedes 1-2 starting grid. Russell got a time of 1.25.819 minute, leaving the seven-time world champion at 0.171 seconds behind.
The third Brit – Lando Norris with McLaren was left at 0.211 seconds behind. Max Verstappen wasn’t having a good day and will start fourth on Sunday.
Sergio Perez with the second Red Bull was eliminated in Q1, when he was one of the first drivers to pun on slicks on the semi-dry track and lost control in turn 9, leading to a spin into the gravel and the Mexican left stuck in it to stay 20th.

In Q2 Charles Leclerc was the surprise driver to be knocked out. He started his last lap with a little over a minute to go and the track evolution under the sun made his time not enough to go into the top 10, leaving him 11th on the grid for Sunday.
Absolutely gutted 😖
