Russian tennis player Vera Zvonareva will not be able to enter Poland, as the politicians shared the news. She will not be able to participate in the upcoming WTA 250 tournament in Warsaw.
The ex-world number 2 landed in Poland from Belgrade, Serbia, but she was denied entry to Warsaw. After spending time in the airport’s transit zone, she flew to Podgorica, Montenegro.

The Russian tennis player, world number 60, was scheduled to compete at the PNB Paribas Warsaw Open event that starts at the beginning of the next week.
Zvonareva was still part of the tournament’s participants’ list a day before the tournament began. The WTA commented that they will investigate what had happened.
Poland, a huge supporter of Ukraine in the war against Russia, said that Russians can’t enter the country for security reasons, and the tennis player is no exception.
