Aryna Sabalenka, world number 2, defeated world number 15, Qinwen Zheng, 2-0 sets, and won the 1st Grand Slam of the year in Australia as that was her 2nd Australian Open trophy.

One break was enough for the Belarusian to win the 1st set as she converted 1 breakpoint from 4 opportunities. Her Chinese opponent had 3 chances to break her serve, but Aryna saved all of them.
In the 2nd set, Sabalenka’s dominance was even greater as the world number 2 started the set with a break. Aryna broke Zheng’s serve for a 2nd time to make it 4-1, and the Belarusian closed the set 6-2 to win the match and the title in Australia for only 1 hour and 17 minutes on the court.
Sabalenka triumphed with the title without losing a set since the beginning of the tournament.
2023 – Aryna Sabalenka has won her 12th hard court title and first since… the Australian Open 2023 – she had lost her three final on this surface in this span (Indian Wells, US Open 2023 and Brisbane 2024). Deliverance.#AusOpen | @AustralianOpen @WTA @WTA_insider pic.twitter.com/iUY2iBrApN
