A tragic incident unfolded during the In-Season Tournament clash between the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans, as a Kings fan lost his life following a medical emergency on Tuesday.
In the opening quarter at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, a spectator attending the game with a family member fell ill. Despite Emergency Medical Services engaging in CPR for over 20 minutes, they couldn’t help the man.
According to local Sacramento television station FOX 40, the man, in his 30s, was unresponsive when paramedics arrived.
In an official statement, the Sacramento Kings expressed their condolences: “During the first quarter of the Kings vs. Pelicans game, a guest had a medical emergency. EMS immediately responded and administered CPR. Tragically, these efforts were unsuccessful and the guest passed away. The organization offers its deepest condolences to the guest’s family and loved ones.”

The Kings were ousted from the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament, succumbing to a 127-117 defeat against the Pelicans.
