In a thrilling match on Sunday, Brayden Schenn delivered a goal just 1:04 into overtime, propelling the St. Louis Blues to a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings and securing their season-best fifth consecutive win.
Jordan Kyrou played a pivotal role for St. Louis, contributing one goal and two assists. This win was a notable turnaround for the Blues, who had conceded at least four goals in each of their previous four encounters with the Kings. Pavel Buchnevich and Nick Leddy also found the back of the net, while goaltender Joel Hofer made 30 crucial saves.
Schenn’s game-winning moment came courtesy of a well-executed pass from Buchnevich, as he outplayed David Rittich to notch his 13th goal of the season.
For the Los Angeles Kings, Phillip Danault, Adrian Kempe, and Jaret Anderson-Dolan each contributed goals, but it wasn’t enough to break their four-game losing streak. Rittich, making 28 saves, couldn’t prevent the Kings from slipping further.
The Kings’ recent struggles are evident, as they now hold a 2-8-6 record in their last 16 games following a strong 20-7-4 start to the season.
