The Red Devils legend Paul Scholes has weighed in on the team’s head coaching search, identifying a “perfect” manager to take over permanently after the end of the season.
While Michael Carrick stabilized the club from Old Trafford after Ruben Amorim’s sacking, Paul remains unconvinced by his ex-teammate’s long-term credentials.
Scholes thinks that Man United must prioritize a proven winner to restore the Red Devils to the glory days of the past.
Scholes even gave a name that he believes will do the job of bringing the club to his best days: “The perfect candidate for me is Carlo Ancelotti.”
The Italian head coach is at the moment preparing Brazil for the World Cup in North America, but Paul believes that the Red Devils could tempt him to take over the club after the competition.
“I understand that he is the manager of Selecao… but he is the perfect 1 for the Red Devils, where you think he will make footballers feel like winners,” Paul revealed. “And Ancelotti is a serial winner. The only question for me is, is he too old at the moment?”
