The duo will start their 7th season in Buffalo, as they both joined the franchise after the 2017 campaign ended.
McDermott became the 3rd Bills manager in franchise history to secure playoff football in his debut year with Buffalo when he put an end to 17 years in a row Bills’ incapability to advance to the postseason.
The pair clinched the playoffs with Bills in 5 of their 6 campaigns, and Sean has the highest head coach winning percentage in the team’s history, and he is 3rd in total victories.
“McDermott is a proud, Christian, faithful man,” Buffalo owner Terry Pegula shared. “I still look back before his interview for the franchise head coaching job thinking about him being a 2-time National Prep Wrestling Champ.”
No team in NFL history has ever started the same QB under the same head coach for more than 5 seasons and win their first Super Bowl after that 5th season.
